Haider Hussain
Former Pakistan field hockey player
Field hockey brought fame and honour to Haider Hussain, but it didn’t come the easy way. The former Pakistan field hockey forward had to make room in the national sport to become a prolific right-out only through sheer hard work and his never-say-die attitude.
A teenager, who started his field hockey career in 1996 with a gold medal at his debut event – Junior Asia Cup – in Singapore, later became the senior team member only to add more silverware to his collection.
From then on, there was no looking back for Haider.
